Floating FAQs

All the things you’ve been wondering…

  • You typically float in the nude, so no swimsuit is required. You will have your own private room for the session.

  • Just yourself! We provide towels, robes, ear plugs, and everything else you might need.

  • You are in complete control of the environment. You have the ability to open the door to the float pod at any time and leave a light on. It may seem a bit strange at first, but, we find that if you give yourself a little time to relax and get used to it, you’ll feel very safe and comfortable.

  • It is recommended not to shave or wax before. Eat a small meal at least an hour and a half before. Try to avoid caffeine before.

  • Yes. Pregnant women have used floating to relieve stress on their bodies for decades. There is even a special position you can float in that relieves all of the weight of the baby off of the mother’s body. If you are in your third trimester, or have any concerns, please consult with your physician before coming in.

  • As long as you are shorter than 7 feet, the salt makes the water incredibly dense and you’ll have no problem floating like a cork on top without any effort.

  • Absolutely. The highly sterile salt water is filtered three times between each float and is sanitized with hydrogen peroxide and UV light. Additionally, the Epsom salts in the water are a natural disinfectant. The water in a float tank is far cleaner than any swimming pool.

  • It’s recommended to take contacts out while you float. Bring your contacts case and solution so that you can take them out before your float, or simply wear glasses.

  • Please wait 2 weeks after dyeing your hair to float. If the dye is set and doesn’t come off on a towel after showering you are good to go!

  • Waiting for the tattoo to heal is very important. Tattoo artist/floaters suggest waiting 4-6 weeks for it to heal to reduce any pain and fading or discoloration of your tattoo.

Did we answer your questions? If not, please send us an email so that we can answer your question for you. Every question is worth asking. We had them all before we floated for the first time too!
